Overview

The technical layer that keeps your SAP available and up to date.

SAP Basis is the technical layer that keeps SAP running: systems, database, infrastructure, updates, and continuity. When that foundation fails or ages, every business process feels it, from billing to the financial close.

Grupo Intelsis takes over full administration of your SAP systems or backs up your in-house Basis team. We host and run environments on Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, or RISE with SAP, tracking availability, capacity, and performance against the SLAs defined in your contract.

Technical upgrades follow a methodology designed to reduce the impact on operations, and disaster recovery and data volume management round out the service. Through international subsidiaries and our collaboration with United VARs, we also support operations across multiple countries.

Highlights

  • Managed Basis or support for your in-house team
  • Hosting on Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, or RISE with SAP
  • Technical upgrades with less impact on operations
  • Disaster recovery with planned failover tests
  • Data volume management and archiving

Why Grupo Intelsis

An SAP platform run by people who know SAP and the cloud.

  • Basis on your terms

We take over full administration of your SAP systems or back up your in-house Basis team with specialists.

  • A partner of the leading clouds

Google Cloud Premier Partner, AWS Partner, and Microsoft Partner: we recommend where each system runs based on architecture, cost, and contract.

  • International reach

International subsidiaries and our collaboration with United VARs let us support SAP operations across multiple countries.

  • SAP Gold Partner

SAP consulting, support, licensing, and solutions from a single partner, from technical projects to day-to-day operations.

Service scope

Everything the SAP platform needs to run well.

The service covers systems, database, and infrastructure. Functional tickets and enhancements are handled by AMS.

  • Managed Basis

SAP system administration: instances, kernel, jobs, spool, transport imports, and preventive and corrective maintenance.

  • Cloud hosting

SAP environments on Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud, with on-demand infrastructure sized for each system.

  • RISE with SAP

Support for adopting and running RISE with SAP, covering the activities the contract leaves with the customer.

  • SAP HANA database

Backups, restores, updates, and performance tuning for SAP HANA and for the databases that still run SAP ECC.

  • Availability and performance

Proactive monitoring of capacity, availability, and performance, with metrics tracked against the SLAs defined in the contract.

  • Technical upgrades

Support packages, enhancement packages, kernel, operating system, and database updated under a plan that limits the impact.

  • Disaster recovery

Replication to another region or site, RPO and RTO targets agreed with the business, and planned failover tests.

  • Data volume management

Table growth analysis, archiving, deletion of obsolete data, and housekeeping to contain memory and storage costs.

Managed architecture

An SAP landscape looked after from infrastructure to data.

Each layer has clear owners, routines, and metrics, from the server to data archiving.

  1. Infrastructure

Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, or RISE with SAP, with network, storage, and security sized for SAP.

    • Azure
    • AWS
    • Google Cloud
    • RISE with SAP
  2. Database

SAP HANA with backups, replication, and performance tuning handled as routine.

    • SAP HANA
    • Backup
    • Replication
  3. SAP systems

Development, quality, and production systems administered by the Basis team.

    • DEV
    • QAS
    • PRD
  4. Continuity

A DR site or region, a documented failover procedure, and periodic tests.

    • DR
    • RPO
    • RTO
  5. Data volume

DVM to archive, delete, and contain database growth over time.

    • DVM
    • Archiving
    • Housekeeping

Technical upgrades

An upgrade rehearsed before it reaches production.

The methodology is designed to reduce the impact on operations: each step lowers the uncertainty of the next.

  1. Step 1

    Assessment

Versions, SAP Notes, add-ons, interfaces, and custom code reviewed to size the impact.

  2. Step 2

    Sandbox rehearsal

The upgrade runs with Software Update Manager on a copy of the system to measure runtimes and catch errors early.

  3. Step 3

    Integrated testing

Key users and the AMS team validate critical processes, with automated regression tests where available.

  4. Step 4

    Production window

Execution in a window agreed with the business, with checkpoints and a defined fallback plan.

  5. Step 5

    Post-upgrade

Closer monitoring in the first days and performance fine-tuning.

How we work

From assessment to ongoing operations.

  1. Free assessment

A 30-minute conversation about your landscape, infrastructure contracts, risks, and technical priorities, with no commitment.

  2. Co-designed architecture

Together we define where each system runs, sizing, the DR strategy, and the operating model.

  3. Migration in stages

Short phases with mapped dependencies, rehearsals, checkpoints, and a contingency plan before production moves.

  4. Operations and evolution

Accompanied go-live, hypercare, service reports, and continuous cost and performance optimization.

Frequently asked questions

Questions about Basis, hosting, and operations

What is the difference between this service and AMS?

The Basis, hosting, and operations service takes care of the technical platform: infrastructure, systems, database, technical upgrades, disaster recovery, and data volume. AMS takes care of applications: user tickets, functional fixes, enhancements, and change control. You can contract them together or separately.

If I sign up for RISE with SAP, do I still need a Basis partner?

Usually, yes. RISE with SAP includes infrastructure and technical managed services from SAP, but the contract sets out a responsibility matrix, and some tasks stay with the customer, such as application support, integrations, and user management. We take on those activities and connect the environment to the rest of your landscape.

Which cloud is best for SAP: Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud?

There is no single answer. All three clouds are certified by SAP for SAP HANA and SAP S/4HANA; the choice depends on existing contracts, data location, security tooling, cost, and IT strategy. As a partner of all three, we compare the scenarios using data from your environment.

How does disaster recovery work for SAP?

First, we agree with the business on how long SAP can be unavailable (RTO) and how much data can be lost (RPO). From there, we design replication to another region or site, document the failover procedure, and plan periodic tests to prove the plan works.

What is Data Volume Management, and when is it worth it?

It is the management of data growth in SAP. We analyze the fastest-growing tables and apply archiving, deletion of obsolete data, and cleanup of technical tables. It pays off especially before a migration to SAP S/4HANA, or when SAP HANA memory costs start to add up.
