What is the difference between SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud and Private Cloud?
Public Cloud (SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition) is standardized SaaS: SAP runs the system and applies periodic updates, and extensions stay outside the core. Private Cloud (SAP S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition), contracted through RISE with SAP, leaves more room for customization and gives you control over the update calendar, with infrastructure and technical services included in the subscription.
What are RISE with SAP and GROW with SAP?
They are SAP commercial offerings. RISE with SAP bundles SAP S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition, infrastructure, technical managed services, and transformation tools in a single subscription. GROW with SAP is the offering for SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition, designed to speed up adoption for companies that want to grow on standard processes.
We still run SAP ECC. Do we need to move now?
SAP ECC 6.0 mainstream maintenance ends on December 31, 2027, and optional extended maintenance runs until the end of 2030 at additional cost.
