Overview
SAP process automation, from approval workflow to bot.
SAP Build Process Automation is the low-code SAP BTP tool for automating processes end to end. It combines approval workflows, decision rules, AI document processing, and the attended and unattended bots of the former SAP Intelligent RPA, connected to SAP S/4HANA, SAP ECC, and non-SAP systems.
Grupo Intelsis starts with a free 30-minute assessment that shortlists three to five candidate processes, each with an estimated return. We then design the solution with your teams, build the first bot in short sprints, and support you through go-live.
The difference is in the method: we redesign each process before automating it, keep the SAP core clean, and put governance in place so IT and business teams can scale new automations safely.
Highlights
- Low-code workflows, approvals, and decision rules
- Attended and unattended bots for SAP and non-SAP systems
- AI reading of invoices, purchase orders, and emails
- Migration of SAP Intelligent RPA bots
- Governance, monitoring, and audit trail
Why Grupo Intelsis
Process first. Bot second.
Automation only pays off when the right process is chosen, redesigned, and governed before it becomes code.
Process insight, not just tooling
Finance, procurement, and HR functional consultants design each automation with the people who run the process every day.
SAP BTP specialists
We use APIs, events, and the SAP user interface judiciously, without modifying the core or creating technical debt for upgrades.
Governance from the first bot
Environments, roles, versioning, and audit trails defined with IT so business teams can build safely.
SAP Gold Partner
SAP consulting, support, licensing, and solutions from one partner, before, during, and after go-live.
Capabilities
One tool for workflows, bots, rules, and documents.
We implement SAP Build Process Automation capabilities based on your process, volume, and SAP contract.
Workflows and approvals
Steps, owners, deadlines, and escalations, with approvals from a browser or phone, integrated with SAP S/4HANA and SAP ECC.
Attended bots
Automations launched by users themselves to speed up tasks in SAP GUI, the browser, and spreadsheets without switching screens.
Unattended bots
Runs triggered by schedule, event, or API, with no human intervention, centralized monitoring, and failure alerts.
AI for documents and email
Data extraction from invoices, purchase orders, and unstructured messages, with human review only for exceptions.
Decision rules
Decision tables maintained by business teams for approval limits, routing, and validations, without changing the published workflow.
SAP and non-SAP integration
Connectors and APIs for SAP S/4HANA, SAP ECC, SuccessFactors, and external systems, with SAP Integration Suite when needed.
Visibility and monitoring
Dashboards for runs, bottlenecks, and deadlines by process, to compare actual returns with the assessment estimate.
SAP Intelligent RPA migration
Inventory, prioritization, and rebuild of SAP Intelligent RPA bots on the new platform, with regression testing.
Where to automate
Four areas where repetitive work tends to hide.
Each area has typical candidates. The assessment confirms which ones have the volume, clear rules, and return.
Finance
Close and reconciliations
How many hours does month-end close spend on tasks that repeat every month?
- Bank and account reconciliations
- Recurring journal entries
- Periodic reports
- Collections and receivables aging
Procurement
Supplier orders and invoices
How long does it take from a supplier's email to a posting in SAP?
- Purchase orders received by email
- AI invoice reading
- Order, receipt, and invoice matching
- Supplier onboarding
People
Onboarding and access
How many systems does a new hire wait on before they can start working?
- Onboarding across multiple systems
- User creation and deactivation
- Employee change approvals
- HR service requests
IT and data
Master data and routines
Who is keying the same data into two different systems?
- Data transfers between systems
- Master data quality
- Access requests
- Routine system checks
Criteria
What we assess before building any bot.
Three questions keep you from automating a broken process or creating bots nobody can maintain.
Is the process ready?
- Clear, documented rules
- Recurring, predictable volume
- Structured input data
- Stable systems and screens
- A defined process owner
Where AI adds value
- PDF invoices and purchase orders
- Free-form email requests
- Classification and routing
- Exception handling
Non-negotiable governance
- Development and production environments
- Roles and technical users
- Versioning and change approval
- Monitoring and alerts
- Audit trail
How we deliver
From the first bot to automation at scale.
Free assessment
In 30 minutes, we map repetitive tasks, shortlist three to five candidate processes, and estimate the return.
Solution design
Process mapping, bot rules, SAP integrations, and KPIs defined together with the teams involved.
First bot in sprints
Built in short iterations with frequent validation, testing, documentation, and a supported go-live.
Scale and evolve
Hypercare, measurement of actual returns, new processes in the pipeline, and AI where it adds value.
Frequently asked questions
Questions about SAP Build Process Automation
Does SAP Build Process Automation replace SAP Intelligent RPA?
Yes. SAP Intelligent RPA capabilities, such as attended and unattended bots, are now part of SAP Build Process Automation, which also brings together workflows, decision rules, and document processing on SAP BTP. We assess your existing bots and plan the migration.
Do I need SAP S/4HANA to automate processes?
No. The platform automates processes in SAP S/4HANA, SAP ECC, and non-SAP systems. When APIs or events are available, we integrate through them; when they are not, the bot works with the screens just as a user would.
What is the difference between a workflow and RPA?
A workflow coordinates steps, owners, deadlines, and approvals across people and systems. RPA performs repetitive tasks on screens, such as copying data from one system to another. Most processes combine both, and SAP Build Process Automation covers both.
Which processes should we automate first?
Those with clear rules, recurring volume, structured data, and stable systems, such as reconciliations, invoice posting, purchase orders, and periodic reports. Processes with many exceptions usually need a redesign before automation.
How do you govern bots built by business teams?
The low-code environment lets business users build automations, but under rules set by IT: separate environments, access roles, versioning, approval before production, and monitoring of every run, with a full audit trail.
